There are now just 4 days until the WRC campaign begins for 2021.

If you're looking for inspiration for who to pick for your Fantasy WRC team in the opening rally, here are the selection stats as they currently stand.

Thierry Neuville's popularity has plummeted in recent days following his recent surprise announcement about switching co-drivers at the eleventh hour. Despite winning this event last year, Neuville has only been selected in 27% of the teams so far.

Oliver Solberg is a popular choice, and why not after a decent showing in this weeks Arctic Lapland Rally. At a bargain price of just 0.38 he is likely to be providing very decent returns in the 'Value for Money' category.

Kalle Rovanperä continues to impress - his value more than doubled last year and is still seen as a bargain at a cost 1.74. Kalle is in 71% of our entries so far - can you afford not to pick him?

Anyway - it's your team and your choice. The important thing is to get your team registered and drivers selected ahead of the scheduled start time for SS1.

The entry list for Monte has now been published, and the drivers list here at Fantasy WRC has been updated to reflect those entries.

Not all drivers are available here - however if there's a driver on the entry list that you want to pick in your team that isn't listed here, just drop me a note via the contact page and I'll add them on request.

New and returning players are welcome to play along. It's free and adds an extra level of interest.

You can also create your own leagues and challenge your friends, family and work colleagues for a bit of banter. What's not to like?

With a fair idea of the top runners that will be taking part in the Rallye Monte Carlo next month, the drivers list has been updated with what I know so far. So if you want to start drafting in your pilots for the opening event, feel free to do so.

Once the official starting list is published I will send an email reminder to those that have chosen to receive them - so if you'd rather wait until then, you may want to check your setting on the My Account page.

Drivers will be updated as and when news filters through.

Isn't it frustrating when you realise you've forgotten to update your drivers and the Rally has already started? A reminder a couple of days before would be nice, wouldn't it? It's easy to miss the reminders on Twitter so would it be better by email maybe?

If you've answered "Yes" to those questions, you can now choose to receive an automated email a couple of days before the start of the Rally. You can turn them on and off with a single click too. Easy peasy.

So just head to the Account section and toggle the Receive Reminders by Email option.

You can also receive an alert when the final results for each rally are loaded too. Toggle the Email Notification of Update setting if you wish to receive these - also found in the Account section.

OK - I have impatiently started work on getting the 2021 competition ready for your entries. If you want to see the 2020 standings you can view the Overall and Private League standings in the 'Archives' menu. The 2020 competition will be available for a while longer - you can see that by going to https://www.fantasywrc.com/2020.

There's not much to do right now until we get the entry list for Monte. However if you want to make a start setting up your team and league, feel free to do so. There have been quite a few changes to the website so it would be good to get some additional testing done before the new year. If you see anything that doesn't look right - please let me know so I can fix it.

Fans League

New for 2021 will be a Fans League. If you set your favourite WRC driver in the Account section, the top score achieved by each fan will be awarded to that driver in the league standings. The more fans a driver has, the better their chances of posting a decent score. I've currently listed the drivers that featured in this competition last year, but I'm happy to add any driver (past or present) for selection. Just drop me a note through the contact page.

Email Reminders

For those that tend to forget to change their drivers, you can now opt in to receive an automated email to remind yourself to update them. You'll find this setting in your Account section.

Legends League

Mattia Sillo currently heads our legends league, another new feature added recently. He's been Mr Consistent up until 2020 where he had a shocker, by his own standards. Will Mattia hold his lead for another year?
